Kirrawee high represents at the Kirrawee Library+ launch.

We are very excited to have been approached approximately two months ago by the wonderful Kelly Wilson from Kirrawee Library+ - a $10 million facility at the bottom of South Village Apartments. I had the great pleasure of previewing the plans for the new library and was absolutely blown away by the facilities that they have engineered here. Podcast rooms, recording studio, workshop, theatre, venue and more are all part of their offerings at the library.

Not only can you borrow books but you can borrow musical instruments like guitar, bass guitar and mini Irigs for use with GarageBand software.

We offered the team four groups on the day so our year 9 and 10 students had an opportunity to work live in the WHITE room which is a photo studio space and also has the capacity to run a rehearsal. Students from year eight and year nine were lucky enough to work in the recording studio space. They had an opportunity to work for one hour in the recording booth and collaborate on a variety of ideas that they were working on.

It was truly a fantastic experience for the students but also for the community. If you haven’t got your membership card for the library please grab one because it’s a place that’s going to be very busy for a very long time.
