Local enrolment area

Check your address on School Finder to see if it is within our local intake area. Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.

How to enrol

If you live in our intake area and would like to apply to enrol at our school, start by submitting an online enrolment application. Online enrolment is currently only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

If you are not able to apply online or you prefer not to, download the paper application to enrol (PDF 768.4KB) form. Please complete the form in English. A translated application to enrol may help you do this.

Online enrolment can also be used for out-of-area enrolment. Please note that out-of-area enrolment procedures are subject to the department’s enrolment policy.

Enrolment applications are finalised at the school.

Step 1 EOI – All Students

For students currently enrolled in NSW Government primary schools, the EOI booklets or online link will be handed out by your local primary school. Please return the EOI form to your child’s primary school by Thursday 28th March 2024.

Step 2 KHS Non-Local Application - Non Local Students ONLY

An out of area applicant lives outside the drawing area for the school. School finder on the Department of Education website allows you to find your local school based on your address. Click here to check the local high school for your address.

Recently NSW Education introduced a 'cap' to limit the number of students each school is allowed to enrol. Kirrawee's cap has not impacted our enrolments allowing us to enrol the same quantity of students as previous years. Approximately a third of our students come from out of the area, so many places are available.

The KHS Non-Local application will handed out on the information night, is available on our school website and can be found here.

The KHS Non-Local Application is to be returned to Kirrawee High School by the 15 March 2024.

Non-local section criteria:

  • Siblings already enrolled at the school.
  • Demonstrate commitment to learning and personal academic progress.
  • Leadership experience/training/success in music/band, performing arts and sports, and other special interests.
  • compassionate or family grounds

Step 3 Enrichment Test – ONLY students seeking placement in the 2025 HPaGE class

Enrichment Class Testing

If you wish for your child to be considered for KHS's Year 7 2025 Enrichment Class, they will be required to sit the ACER Cognitive Ability Test (CoGAT) at Kirrawee High School on Thursday 4th April at 2.00pm. Students who are placed in the top 30 after an analysis of this data will be placed in the Enrichment Class.

Parents should consider nominating their child based on some the following indicators:

  • Demonstrated achievement in the top two bands in NAPLAN or comparative achievement in other assessments.
  • Learning characteristics which indicate a high order ability to find and solve problems, make connections and apply reasoning skills.
  • High performance in psychometric assessment or equivalent IQ testing i.e. WISC.

A payment will be incurred with this nomination. However, if you foresee any issues associated with the payment of this fee, please contact the school.

If you wish for your child to sit our Enrichment Test for Year 7 2025, please scan the QR code below to complete the registration form.

Once completed, you will need to pay $25 via clicking on the link below, add item and select “Enrichment Test Year 7 2025”.
