"The year 12 Chemistry students took a trip to The University of Sydney on Friday to learn about different ways to analyse organic chemicals in the Kickstart Chemistry Program.
Students were able to engage in hands-on activities at the Sydney University Chemistry Labs, using proper chemistry equipment that they wouldn’t usually be able to use at school, such as an infrared spectrometer with university students helping them to deepen their understanding of the concepts in the HSC Chemistry syllabus.
Students also learnt how to use the different spectra produced to gather information about different compounds in order to identify them. "
