Year 11 Textiles Students visit TEXStyle Exhibition

1

On a recent excursion, our year 11 Textiles and Design students had the incredible opportunity to attend the Texstyle exhibition, showcasing exemplary HSC works from across the state.

This exhibition provided valuable insights into the creativity, innovation and technical skills demonstrated by top students in the field of Textiles and Design. The students explored a diverse range of textile designs, from fashion to interior decor, all highlighting the advanced techniques and concepts covered in their current studies over the next 2 years.

This experience not only inspired our students but gave them a clearer understanding of the high standards required for their HSC projects next year. They also participated in an embroidery workshop, run by members of the Embroiderers Guild and a student seminar outlining the sections in their portfolio for the HSC.

We are excited to see how the students will use this inspiration to enhance their own textile creations.

I am very proud of this class, their dedication, exemplary behaviour and application to their work. Many teachers and volunteers commented on how great the students from KHS were!

Looking forward to some exciting projects to come!
