Well done to Ben Wichgers (Year 8) and Hanna Wichgers (Year 7) for their outstanding performances during a busy winter season representing Kirrawee High School in Snow Sports. Competing in Cross Country Skiing and Biathlon events, both siblings represented the school in Division 3 for Year 7 and 8 students. Ben and Hanna also attended a National Biathlon Training Camp to develop their skills and discipline required for this difficult sport.
At the Interschools Biathlon Race, Hanna took 1st place, while Ben finished 2nd. At the NSW State Championship Ben finished 2nd and Hanna 5th, these results qualifying them both for highly competitive Australian Interschools Cross Country Skiing Championship. This event saw over 40 athletes competing from across the country after progressing through their respective state competitions. At this Championship Ben secured the Australian Silver Medal, while Hanna achieved an impressive 5th place finish.
Congratulations to Ben and Hanna—two remarkable athletes who proudly represent Kirrawee High School in a variety of sports. Their dedication and achievements are truly inspiring!
