21 May 2024

After a very long turn around from the Sydney East Swimming Carnival, the CHS Swimming Championships was held during Week 3 Monday 13-Wednesday 15th May at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Despite having 10 students qualify for the CHS Swimming Championships - due to series of unfortunate events, there were only 4 actual swimmers who took to the pool for the CHS Swimming Championships.
Day 1 saw our Relay team ready and eagar to compete only to be evacuated from the Aquatic Centre due to a fire. Unfortunately, due to scheduling constraints for the event, all relays for 2024 were cancelled. We are so proud of our girls who demonstrated resilience in the face of disappointment. We look forward to seeing them return in 2025 to again qualify to swim at this elite level.
The KHS star of the meet was Kobi Mead of year 7 swimming at his first CHS Swimming Championships.
Kobi's outstanding results included
4th 13 200m Freestyle
7th 12-14 400m Freestyle
12th 13 100m Backstroke
other swimmers included
Sophie Attwells 11th in 14 100m Backstroke just missing the final
Mikayla Dobosz competed in 17 200m freestyle
Oliver Robertson competed in 12 100m Butterfly
Congratulations to all our swimmers who qualfied and competed at the 2024 NSW CHS Championships.
