It has been a busy start to Term 2 in Careers. Our Year 11 and 12 students had the opportunity to attend a variety of lunch information sessions to listen to presentations from UOW, Western Sydney, ACU, UNSW and Macquarie University. The students gained a better understanding of the courses available, admission pathways, scholarship opportunities and the campus life.
Our Year 10, 11 and 12 students were also invited to attend a Trade Talk session presented by Quentin Field, an experienced Electrician and Electrical Trades TAFE teacher. He provided an insight into the world of trades, including the need for more girls in trades, pathways to becoming a tradie, and provided information on what it is like to study at TAFE. The students had plenty of questions for Quentin and were able to better understand the different pathways into trades through school-based apprenticeships (SBATs) or full apprenticeships.
