Brianna Day 2024

Brianna Day

In the spirit of solidarity and compassion, Kirrawee High School rallied together on the 31st of May to celebrate Brianna Day – a day to raise much needed funds for the Starlight Foundation.

At the centre of this day was the memory of Brianna, a student whose courage and resilience in the face of a long battle with cancer, continues to inspire us all at KHS.

Student enjoyed a Bake Sale at Recess, tantalizing taste buds with an array of homemade treats generously donated by students, parents, and staff. From mouth-watering cupcakes to scrumptious cookies, there was something for every sweet tooth, and every purchase contributed to the noble cause.

In addition to these culinary delights, Kirrawee High School embraced the spirit of giving with a Mufti Day and gold coin donation, where students and staff donned their most vibrant purple attire, symbolizing solidarity with Brianna and the Starlight Foundation. The school grounds transformed into a sea of purple, echoing the message of hope and support that resonated throughout the day.

The highly-anticipated Lolly Jar Guessing Competition, where students put their estimation skills to the test, trying to guess the number of sweets in a jar was a highlight of the day. A winner is to be announced at our Tuesday Whole School Assembly in Week 6.

Thanks to the unwavering generosity and enthusiasm of the Kirrawee High School community, we were able to raise a substantial amount of funds for the Starlight Foundation. These contributions will go a long way in brightening the lives of children like Brianna, bringing joy and comfort during challenging times.

As we reflect on this remarkable display of compassion and unity, let us carry forward the spirit of giving and empathy everyday. Together, we have shown that even small acts of kindness can make a world of difference to those in need.
