After four years of learning Japanese in class, we were thrilled to finally participate in the exchange program with our sister school in Tokyo, Japan. Excitement and a touch of nervousness filled the air as we boarded the bus to the airport.
Arriving at Komae High School was an unforgettable and surreal experience. After three months of eagerly counting down to this moment, we finally met our host families—it was such an exciting and heartwarming reunion. Within the first few days, we all realized this trip would become one of our most cherished memories, thanks to the incredible friendships we formed.
As a group, we enjoyed countless new experiences: exploring Disneyland in the rain, visiting Tokyo’s breathtaking temples, and discovering the traditional charm of Kyoto’s historic sites. However, without a doubt, the most special moments were those spent with our host families. These experiences will remain some of the best memories of our lives.
We are immensely grateful for this opportunity and want to thank our dedicated Japanese teachers, Mr. Simpson and Ms. Potter, as well as our deputy, Ms. Moon. Their countless hours of preparation, support, and guidance made this trip of a lifetime possible. ありがとう ございます!
We can’t wait to return to Japan someday and reunite with our host families. Let’s meet again in Japan!
