Thank you to Jasmine Murdoch of Year 7 for her report on the Stars of th Future Graduation Concert..
On the 12th of November, Kirrawee High School was filled with talented musicians and an eager audience. The Stars of The Future Graduation Concert had begun! An audience of approximately 100 supporters had come to watch Kirrawee High School's first ever Graduation Concert. We had 5 students graduate from the Stars Of the Future Program - Ethan Ball, Aaron Briggs, Lola Faass, Richard Fastovski, and Spencer Wallis. We will miss them dearly as they move onto our premier bands. We also gave out awards to Joshua Entwistle and Will Pearce who have been tutoring the students in this program. We thank them for their service.
The Stars of the Future concert started off with a fantastic performance from the Stage Band conducted by Mr Bonny. This performance was followed by the Kirra Daiko, led by Mrs Lacey. The brand new Percussion Ensemble, led byTim Roffe, performed a rousing rendition of Funky Town. Concert Band led by Kerri Lacey and Adam Robinson closed the night.
This year we have introduced The Stars of the Future representative leadership team which is an extension of the premier leadership team for the youth. This opportunity has been given to 4 excellent students who have shown leadership skills and talents. This role was given to Joshua Pearce, Elise Mead, Liam Wood and myself. My first job was to report on this event.
A special thanks to Kai Amoruso, Jackson Gray, Kayne Harris, Imogen Lammers and Kyesha Bush who are a part of the talented VET Entertainment Team. Without our VET team this show could have never been so amazing and well put together. We would also like to Thank Mrs Lacey, our Music Coordinator and all of the music teachers for putting so much effort into this brilliant event and for pushing the KHS music students to do their best.
