It was a great three days of racing at the NSW Combined High Schools Swimming Championships. At this championships, the best swimmners from all Government Schools across the state meet. To get to this level is a huge achievement as qualification is not through standards, but places. Only 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the Sydney East Regional Championships qualify to swim after progressing through school and zone.
Kirrawee High was represented by 21 outstanding athletes at the Championships including both individual swimmers and 5 relay teams.
Individual Swimmers

We had some amazing results with the highlights listed below
Rafaela Kopellou - 3 GOLD medals, 1 silver medal and a NSWCHS State Record in the 15G 100m Butterfly. Fantastic results with a record to remain in the record books. Rafaela swam 1.03.51 beating the previous record of 1.03.68 set in 2011.
Michelle Fawer - 3 GOLD medals and 2 Silver medals and 2 BRONZE medals in the Multi Class events. Due to 4 extensive scoliosis surgeries last year, Michelle has recevied a S10 MC classification due to reduced mobility and flexibility. Michelle has worked so hard to return to swimming in difficult circumstances and we are very proud of her resilience and dedication to her sport. Michelle was awarded the MC swimmer of the meet for her excellent results.
Lily Taylor - 1 GOLD Medal and 3 BRONZE Medals including two individual and two relay medals
Layla Barclay, Jasmine Fawer, Zoe Fawer - 1 GOLD and 1 BRONZE medal in the two 17 Girls Relays.
Rafaela, Jasmine, Lily , Zoe, Layla and Michelle will all now represent NSW CHS at the NSW All Schools Swimming Carnival to be held next term.
