Wellbeing Week

1

In Week 8 of Term 3, Kirrawee High School engaged in a week of self-care and community bonding with our annual Wellbeing Week. Each day of the week was dedicated to nurturing a different facet of wellbeing, ensuring students had the opportunity to learn about and to prioritize their mental, physical, and social health.

Tuesday - Spiritual Wellbeing: The Power Within

Kicking off the festivities was Tuesday, dedicated to spiritual wellbeing. The highlight of the day was the Wellbeing Assembly. Led by our Wellbeing Prefects from Year 12 and our dedicated Student Support Officers, the assembly was an enlightening session where students received invaluable tips on maintaining their mental and emotional health. Discussions ranged from mindfulness practices to effective stress management techniques, empowering students to take charge of their wellbeing journey.

Wednesday - Physical Wellbeing: Move and Groove

Wednesday saw the school buzzing with physical activity. The hall was transformed into a hub of energy with the Just Dance competition and the Penalty Shootout on the oval offered the chance for students to showcase their talents with a football. These lively events not only encouraged friendly competition but also emphasized the importance of regular exercise in maintaining physical health. Students enthusiastically participated, showcasing their skills and dance moves while enjoying the thrill of healthy competition and camaraderie.

Friday - Social Wellbeing: Connections!

As the week drew to a close, Friday focused on nurturing social wellbeing through creativity and connection. Students gathered in the library to make friendship bracelets, a timeless activity that symbolizes unity and support among peers and encouraged students to channel their inner Swifties! The atmosphere was filled with laughter and conversation as friendships were strengthened and new bonds formed.

Wellbeing Week at Kirrawee High School was a resounding success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of students and the dedicated efforts of staff members. By focusing on different aspects of wellbeing each day, we reinforced the importance of coming together as a community to support our academic and personal growth.

As we conclude this special week, let us carry forward the lessons learned and the connections made, ensuring that wellbeing remains at the heart of our school community. Together, we strive for a healthier, happier future for all.
