Sydney East Athetics Championship

relay

The prestigious Sydney East Athletics Championships took center stage at the Sylvania Waters Athletics Track on Tuesday 1 August and Wednesday 2 August.  This grand event witnessed an impressive turnout of young athletes from 50 high schools in the Sydney East Region, all vying for the coveted titles and a chance to compete at the next level.

One school that stood out amidst the sea of competitors was Kirrawee High School, which proudly boasted the second biggest team with  56 competitors, including 8 relay teams. Kirrawee High's commitment to athletics and their determination to excel in the sport was evident in their sizeable and enthusiastic representation.

The Sylvania Waters Athletics Track provided a fitting venue for this epic showdown, with its top-notch facilities. Athletes, coaches, and spectators were greeted with favorable weather conditions, setting the stage for outstanding performances across various track and field events.

Throughout the two-day championship, spectators were treated to displays of athleticism, determination, and sheer talent. From sprints and relays to long jumps and javelin throws, the young athletes left no stone unturned in their quest for victory.

Kirrawee High School's impressive team of competitors shone brightly, showcasing their dedication to the sport and their school. Their presence in such large numbers was a testament to the school's emphasis on fostering a culture of sportsmanship and providing opportunities for students to explore their athletic potential.

As the dust settled and the cheers subsided, the Sydney East Athletics Championships had crowned its champions. However, the journey was far from over for those who secured the top two spots in their respective events. The thrill of advancement awaited them, as they qualified for the prestigious NSW CHS Championships, scheduled to be held from Wednesday, 6th September to Friday, 8th September in Week 8.

For the triumphant athletes, the NSW CHS Championships will present a chance to compete at an even higher level, pitting their skills against the best talents from other regions across New South Wales.

Top performers from KHS include our place getters with 1st and 2nd place and some 3rd place getters qualifying for the Sydney East Team to compete at the CHS Championships.  Congratulations to:
