This year, debating has hit the ground running, with a record 48 students participating in 9 teams.
Our Year 7 cohort is super keen and has shown great potential so far through after school mentoring sessions and our first initial coaching session. Many of our more experienced debaters have once again returned to test their skills as deep thinkers and wordsmiths. We’ve been very impressed by the knowledge and motivation shown by all our debaters so far.
This year, our seasoned Year 11/ 12 debaters are taking on the role of mentors, guiding our juniors through the rigours and processes of debating. These busy students have given of their time to pass on the torch and teach our juniors all the useful tips they’ve picked up throughout their many years of debating.
Many see debating as an art and we are so pleased that our students are taking the opportunity in 2020 to enrich their own learning through this worthwhile program.
