Sydney Southeast Symphonic Winds Camp 2023 (SSSW)

sssw

A big thank you to Elise Mead of Year 7 for writing the report on the SSSW Band camp.

This year's SSSW camp was a great time. We played lots of music and played plenty of fun games. Kirrawee High had 10 kids in SSSW this year-

Keziah Campbell, Eitan Faass, Will Pearce, Josh Pearce, Talaith Humphreys,  Eirian Humphreys, Elise Mead, Byron Nobbs, Poppy Gilbert, Ben Whichgers are all a part of SSSW this year.

There were many activities at camp this year some include, goliath swing, abseiling, leap of faith, go-karting and archery. During camp we did tutorials and rehearsals tutorials were run by our amazing tutors but rehearsals were conducted by the amazing conductors Jenny Williams and Steve Mead.

At the end of the camp we had to perform for all the parents and carers. There were some amazing solos, two of them done by our Kirrawee students Josh and Will Pearce. This year's camp is Will’s last one as he is in year 9 and it is his final year.

SSSW camp is a great way to get better at the songs we are playing for this year's concerts at the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. SSSW camp was a great time and we couldn’t have made it happen without the person who organizes everything and does a lot for this band, Adam Robinson.
