7Y Caring for our Environment

7Y had their second waste audit on Friday 2nd December, to see how well the initiatives (such as return and earn bins, recycling in classrooms and composting) that have been put into place are working.

The students weighed and sorted through the rubbish bags collected from Thursday but also got to count and analyse the containers that had been collected in the trial of our return and earn bins.

Four bins have been placed in the quad to see how well a return and earn system would work before we go ahead with implementing it for the whole school.  The students counted out 210 containers that have been collected over the last couple of weeks.
