tri

The NSW All Schools Triathlon event was held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th February.  This event brought together talented students from schools across the state with Kirrawee High School Individuals and Teams competing in both the NSW All Schools and Combined High Schools Divisions.

In the Junior Boys Division, the Year 8 team of Phoenix Rostron, Kobi Mead, and Zander Crump delivered a dominant performance, leading the race from start to finish to claim GOLD in both the NSW All Schools and CHS categories. Their victory is a testament to their incredible individual skill,  determination and team work. To control the race from the outset and hold their commanding lead against top-level competition makes this achievement even more impressive.

Competing individually as well, Phoenix  finished 3rd overall and 1st in the CHS category, securing the CHS GOLD Medal.  A fantastic Championship for our 2024 KHS Junior Sports Person, Phoenix not only won FOUR NSW Medals, he earned selection into the NSW All Schools Team, qualifying for the Australian All Schools Triathlon Championships.

Lillian Davidson of Year 11, represented in the Intermediate Division and displayed her prowess by securing 10th position in the NSW CHS and Joshua Bourne of Year 10, a first time KHS Triathlon representative finished 20th in the NSW CHS division.

In the Senior Girls Division, our team of Kate Hummerston Year 12, Sienna Mead and Lillian Davidson of Year 11 put in a fantastic effort, demonstrating grit and determination throughout the race. Their teamwork and individual strengths were on full display as they tackled the swim, bike, and run with confidence finishing with the SILVER medal in the  CHS Category.  Another first time Triathlon representative for KHS, Imogen Lancaster of year 11 competed in the Individual Division finishing in 6th place.  A tremendous result for someone new to the sport.
