Sutherland Shire Public Speaking Competition 2023

Date/Time:  Monday 30 October 2023 8:45am - 1:00pm (Round 2 - Students are to meet at the venue 8.45am)

Description:  This competition is designed to give students from the Sutherland Shire the opportunity to gain experience in different ranges of public speaking experience, to make their voices heard on an array of topical issues.

Venue:  St John Bosco College, Engadine (Banksia Ave, Engadine NSW 2233)

Transport:  Parents will need to make arrangements for their child to and from the venue.

Dress Code:  Full school uniform.

Food:  Students are to bring their own snacks. Students are to bring their own water.

Students are to Bring:  A pen or pencil and a notebook. Mobile phone - a fully charged mobile phone in case of early/late finished or emergencies.

Educational Outcomes:  Skills of planning, preparing and writing speeches.  Analysing current affairs to incorporate them into speeches.  Delivering speeches to an audience - both prepared and impromptu.
