Year 10 Commerce Travel Excursion - Cables Wake Park & Aqua Park

Year 10 Commerce students completed an assessment task which required them to plan a day trip in Sydney for their Travel topic. The end result of the assessment was the organisation of one of the day trips created by students. It was decided that by students that the Cables Wake Park & Aqua Park excursion was the most popular. During this excursion, students will be conducting a self-guided tour of the Cables Wake Park by completing a worksheet, exploring how the venue attracts tourism to Penrith.

Venue: Cables Wake Park & Aqua Park (405 Jamison Rd, Penrith NSW 2750)

Date: 2nd December, 2022

Transport: Coach

Time: 8:00am-3:00pm

Cost: $70

What to bring/Equipment Required: Full sports uniform, enclosed shoes, appropriate swimwear for water activities, towels, hat, sunscreen, food (or money to purchase food)

What to wear: Appropriate clothing for dry and wet activities (as listed in the what to bring/equipment required section)

Return to class instructions (if the excursion is not for the whole day): N/A

Students must make a genuine effort to catch up on any school work missed as a result of attending this excursion.  

By giving permission 

I acknowledge that this event/activity is required to be held in accordance with any current NSW Health COVID-19 Public Health Orders and the NSW Department of Education's policies and procedures. I acknowledge and accept that there is a risk that my child may be exposed to COVID-19 whilst attending and participating at this event. 

I confirm that my child will not attend if displaying any symptoms of illness, and/or if directed to isolate under public health orders.

I accept responsibility for the transport arrangements of my child to and from this event.

 

An additional note will be sent home regarding swimming ability and consent to enter the water. Please fill this out and have your child return it to their teacher. Both the paper note and this electronic consent will be required. Students will undertake a swim challenge test on the day to confirm their ability in the water, conducted by lifeguards at the Cable Wake Park venue. Weaker swimmers can still go in the water but they will not have access to the obstacle course.

 

This excursion is being conducted with the permission of the Principal.
