CHS Athletics Wrap Up

The NSW Combined High Schools Athletics Championship was held from Wednesday 7 - Friday 9 September at SOPAC.  While the weather was great Day 1 and 2, the conditions were not so favourable on Day 3.

Kirrawee High School was represented by 15 athletes.  These athletes progressed through the very competitive school sport system of Sydney East to qualify to compete at this Championships.

Congratulations to our team of athletes who qualified to represent Sydney East.

As always our athletes were amazing, representing themselves, their families and their school with pride.  Combined our athletes achieved a NSW State Record, 3 NSW State Titles, won 10 CHS Medals and made 19 CHS Finals.

Congratulations to Izobelle Louison Roe of year 10.  Izobelle competed in 5 events, making the final for 4 and winning 4 CHS Medals

Congratulations to our throwing wonderful twins Zoran and Christopher Szekeres of Year 9.

On day 1 of the Championships the boys won GOLD and SILVER in the 14 Boys Discus, both throwing over 50 metres.

GOLD - Zoran 52.10

SILVER - Christopher 51.19

Both boys then went on to compete in the Shot were Zoran won BRONZE and Christopher finished 4th.  Christopher also competed in the Javelin.

 

Congratulations to Amelia Kirby of Year 11.   Amelia won BRONZE in the 17 Girls 800m.  

Such a talented athlete, Amelia competes in all events and as well as being a member of our 4x100m Relay Team she also  also competed in the Long Jump.

Congratulations to Riley Crawford of Year 12.  Riley won BRONZE in the 17B 200m and placed 5th in the 400m Hurdles.

Well Done Riley. A great end to your representation at CHS athletics over the past 6 years.

Congratulations to the 17G relay team that have won SILVER at the CHS Athletics Carnival. Amy Watson, Zara Lammers, Amelia Kirby, Claire Stegbauer.

Our only relay team at the championships, the girls were fast, had efficient changes and all ran their best for each other.

Zara and Amy running their very last relay for the KHS Koalas. Two amazing athletes, both girls competed in the 100m and 200m individual sprints also Zara placing 5th in the 200m and 9th in the 100m and Amy placing 5th in the 100m.

Amy has also been a member of the relay teams over the past 6 years that have alway represented at CHS winning medals in 2017, 2019 and again this year.  Well Done Amy, a fantastic end to your CHS Athletics career at Kirrawee High School.

Special mention to our Year 12 students who have represented at CHS for the final time.  Fantastic representative of our school over the past 6 years.  Our KHS Athletics Team will certainly miss you.  Thank you
